The Situation: Our client came to us with two websites
of about 30 pages each that were designed several years ago
by another design firm. In need of care and repair, these
sites had not been updated in at least two years. Rich in
content, cornerstonekids.com and kidstopkids.com were designed
as both an informational resource for current and prospective
parents and as a marketing tool.
Our Mission: To go over both sites with a "fine tooth
comb", fixing broken links, browser incompatibilities and
other inconsistencies and flaws, both technical and aesthetic.
In addition, to update several pages/site monthly, pages that
include calendars, newsletters, menus and activity schedules
for toddlers and preschoolers. To gradually, on an as-needed
basis, add new pages. The new pages must be a fine balance
of old and new, retaining the flavor of the existing site,
while incorporating more contemporary design solutions, thus
providing flair and visual interest.
Our Solution: Painted Pages began by repairing the obvious
flaws in both sites. In addition, in an effort to keep future
maintenance costs down, we cleaned up the code in the pages
that needed monthly maintenance. Now, making those updates
takes a small fraction of the time and with superior results.
New pages were added periodically with plans for future additions,
including new photos.
The Result: Improved communication with grateful parents
is one result. Parents now have an immediate way to access
newsletters, menus, special events and much more. The sites
also serve as an effective marketing tool. Cornerstone and
Kidstop are now making a great impression on those potential
families searching for an early childhood educational experience
for their children.
